On Behalf of WEA’s More Conservative Members #97 / Nine Daily Newspapers Endorse Wyman for Secretary of State / These Newspapers Aren’t Buying Challenger’s Claims / 10.26.20 The Seattle Times, The Everett Herald, The Columbian, The Walla Walla Union-Bulletin, The Olympian, The Tacoma News Tribune, The Tri-City Herald, The Yakima Herald, and The Spokesman-Review have all endorsed Secretary of State Kim Wyman for re-election. / That’s a huge vote of confidence in the work Secretary Wyman has done over the last eight years. / And, it’s a clear repudiation of the challenger’s campaign claims.

Union Leader and Life Long Republican

On Behalf of WEA’s More Conservative Members #26 The “Other Washington” Republicans 6.8.20 I’m sure it sounds strange to some readers that this writer is both a union leader and a life long Republican. Since this will become an ongoing dialogue, I think it appropriate for me to explain. I grew up in Yakima, WA, in the late 1940s, 1950s, & early 1960s. In those days, Yakima was a center of ultra-conservatism in the form of the John Birch Society. An entrepreneur/inventor by the name of Floyd Paxton, who was president of the JBS at one time and founder of the “American Eagle” as the JBS’s newspaper, was in his prime. His niece and I attended school together in elementary, junior high, and high school. I still remember her as a fine person. On Behalf of WEA’s More Conservative Members #6 Why I’ve Decided to Support Kim Wyman, Despite WEA’s Failure to Endorse Her for a Third Time. 4.17.20 What does a political candidate do when he or she has no qualifications for the job she or he is seeking? That’s easy! Simply try to tie the incumbent to some nefarious individual and then demonize him or her. It is called an ad hominem attack, though I tend to think of it as character assassination. It has been a popular tool in the campaign tool box of thousands of candidates. When Tina Podlodowski refers to Secretary of State Kim Wyman as a “Trump ally”, that’s exactly what she is trying to do, tie Wyman to Trump.
