Wyman Guides WA State to an "A" Rating for Vote by Mail

On Behalf of WEA’s More Conservative Members #70 Eight States and D.C. Receive “A” Rating on Their Vote by Mail Systems https://www.brookings.edu/research/voting-by-mail-in-a-pandemic-a-state-by-state-scorecard/ 9.10.20 WA State is one of eight states to receive an “A” rating from the Brookings Institute for its Vote-by-Mail system. The other states are Oregon, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Utah, Colorado & New Jersey. Washington, D. C. also received an “A” rating. Fifteen states have a “B” rating. Washington has a rather long history of Vote-by-Mail, compared to other states. We can thank Secretary of State Kim Wyman for that, as well as her predecessors, Sam Reed and Ralph Munro. And yet, Wyman’s opponent in the race for Secretary of State, Gael Tarleton, feels she can do better? However, she has no training or experience, and that may explain her rather cavalier attitude. She showed poorly in the Primary Election, which suggests to me that the voters are beginning to recognize her short comings and prefer the trained and experienced candidate, Kim Wyman. ------------ Ken Mortland is a member of WEA-Retired, continuing a long career of activism in WEA/NEA.
